I want to how to receive a text message or an audible alert on my email when an email arrives in my inbox from a specific person/sender.

   Sign into Yahoo! and go to Yahoo! Mobile http://mobile.yahoo.com and type your phone number and click "Send me the link" which will register your phone. You will receive a text message. Disregard the internet link contained in the text. Your phone doesn't have to be internet-ready.

   Now that Yahoo! Mobile has registered your phone you will need to setup email filters http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/alerts/...

   Setup filters at Yahoo! Alerts http://alerts.yahoo.com/ and select MAIL which will redirect you to "Setting Up Mail Alerts" to confirm your mobile number

   Click SAVE

   Click CONTINUE and you will be redirected to classic (not beta) Yahoo! Mail filters

   Click ADD or EDIT an existing filter and when you are done select "Send an alert to my mobile device"

   Click SAVE CHANGES

   To test your phone, create a filter for your own email address and send yourself an email from any email account http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/alerts/...

   To stop receiving text messages EDIT filter(s) by unchecking "Send an alert to my mobile device" and save the filter. Or delete the filter.

   At this writing email filters are accessible through classic Yahoo! Mail OPTIONS menu. For now, if you use Beta Yahoo! Mail, you'll have to switch to classic Yahoo! Mail to add or edit filters.

   Note if ever you change phone numbers be sure to unregister your current phone at Yahoo!

   Telephone companies recycle phone numbers and your privacy might be at risk if others receive text messages via previous mobile number.

   Audible filters are not yet available for email contacts.
