How do I move my iTunes library from one computer to another?

I know this has been asked before, but I can't the information I need. I have about 1000 songs, about 200 videos (mostly podcasts) a single game, and 300 photos in my iTuned library. Some of them were imported from a CD, so they're in the iTunes folder (which is in "my music) but the others are scattered all over the place. I've tried the "consolidate my library" option, but I got a "filename is too long or invalid" message, and I have no idea what that means. So my problem is this... I want to just copy my iTunes music folder onto a large portable hard drive and bring it to my other computer, (which has iTunes installed) and import the whole thing. But then I don't know how to get all of my songs into one place, where my podcasts are kept, and how to keep all of the info about the songs. (album art, skip count, etc.) Isn't there some way I could just sync my ipod with my new itunes library instead of the other way around? I don't have a CD burner, so that option is out. If I go into the media files on my ipod and import those, will they keep all the information such as titles, skip count, album art, etc?

  1. the easiest way is to enable disk mode on your iPod in iTunes, close iTunes, bring up my computer and locate your iPod ( it will display like a flash drive). Simply drag and drop the Media you want to transfer, hook your iPod up to the other comp, and repeat the drag and drop to that computer. Import the media with iTunes on that computer and Enjoy!!!

  2. What you can do is burn your library to a disk. You click on file and back up to disk. Then it will burn a couple of disks which you import into your new library.
